Bathurst Golf Course is an 18 hole course with grass greens and fairway watering. Our Course was home to the 1990 New South Wales Open as well as host to the 1998 Australian Junior Interstate Team series with such players as Aaron Badderley and Adam Scott competing. The Clubhouse is in a tree lined setting with spectacular views over the course and beyond, to the Blue Mountains. Like many of the golf clubs in New South Wales, the Bathurst Golf Club is abundant with history and anecdotes associated with golf and the evolution of the sport. | | |
| Hole 1 - Par 4, 368 Metres |
A very good starting hole, slightly uphill with a wide driving area, middle iron second shot, no bunkers around the green. A plateau before the green makes it a deceptive opening hole. |
| Hole 2 - Par 5, 462 Metres |
Uphill all the way, a dogleg at 260 metres to the right, out of bounds all the way on the right. Two woods and a pitch make it a birdie hole and long hitters will be putting for eagle. |
| Hole 3 - Par 4, 392 Metres |
Downhill and plays shorter than the metreage suggests. Well protected fairway with trees on both sides. A middle iron second shot to a green which slopes away from the player. A deep green side bunker protects the left side of the green. |
| Hole 4 - Par 4, 299 Metres |
A narrow driving hole, crossing a creek, big trees line both sides of this fairway. A short second shot to this well bunkered, undulating green will set up a good birdie shot. |
| Hole 5 - Par 3, 190 Metres |
A good par three with a creek at the left, right and in front. A long iron or fairway wood is required if the wind is against the player. |
| Hole 6 - Par 4, 386 Metres |
A tough par four with the drive landing into a hill. A blind second shot with a 5 - 7 iron makes it difficult. A well-bunkered green sloping away from the player makes it hard to stop the ball downwind. |
| Hole 7 - Par 4, 377 Metres |
A blind driving hole with a big gum tree protecting the right side. A middle to short iron second shot to a sloping green with a creek at the back. Not an easy hole. |
| Hole 8 - Par 3, 125 Metres |
A short iron over the creek to a relatively large green with four bunkers. This hole holds no trouble for good golfers. |
| Hole 9 - Par 5, 504 Metres |
The drive placed on the left side of the fairway rolls to the centre. A semi-blind second shot downhill for the last 180 metres will give the good player a short pitch or putt for birdies and eagles. |
| Hole 10 - Par 4, 407 Metres |
Rated No 1 for difficulty with two lakes on the left at 200 and 230 metres. This slight dogleg plays all it's distance. A long to middle iron is required to reach a flat green with deep bunkers and an out of bounds 10 metres to the left of the green. |
| Hole 11 - Par 4, 306 Metres |
Another short par four with a sharp dogleg left and a creek stopping the player driving around the corner. Long hitters can hit over Bathurst Gaol boundary to reach the green with an assisting wind but normally a 2-iron and wedge will set up birdie chances. |
| Hole 12 - Par 4, 316 Metres |
Right hand dogleg uphill to a large green. A creek on the right stops players being too adventurous. A good birdie chance. |
| Hole 13 - Par 3, 158 Metres |
A great hole with a lake, five bunkers, a large green and some awkward pin positions. This hole is one of the best. |
| Hole 14 - Par 4, 326 Metres |
Straight uphill, a very narrow drive and a short iron. Masses of trees on both sides. A 1 or 2 iron from the tee is a sensible approach to this hole. The green is well bunkered and slopes severely from back to front. |
| Hole 15 - Par 5, 525 Metres |
The best par five of the course. A downhill drive with trees and a lake on the left and out of bounds on the right make it a formidable driving hole. An uphill second shot with fairway bunkers and trees on the left make this hole a challenge to birdie. |
| Hole 16 - Par 3, 191 Metres |
A downhill par 3 with a large green and a lake on the left. A severe putting test with three or four large bumps in the putting surface. Two deep bunkers make it hard to par from the side of the green if the tee shot is wayward. |
| Hole 17 - Par 4, 342 Metres |
Straight downhill with three fairway bunkers at the 230 metre landing area. A drive has only 20 metres width between these bunkers. Longer hitters may be able to clear the bunkers but for most, a 2 iron and 9 iron will be a popular way to play this hole. |
| Hole 18 - Par 4, 391 Metres |
A drive over the hill to a fairway with a dogleg left. A stand of pine trees on the left blocks the drive if it is pulled and three large pines trap the drive on the right. A 6 or 7 iron second shot to a green sloping from the back with two deep bunkers makes it a great finishing hole. |
